Austrálie podala žalobu na společnost Indian Ocean International Shipping and Service Company a jednoho jejího bývalého zástupce kvůli porušení zákonů o zahraničních investicích ve spojení s těžbou vzácných zemin.

Společnost byla loni v červnu mezi pěti investory, jimž australský ministr nařídil odprodat podíly ve společnosti Northern Minerals. Cílem je ochránit národní zájmy a snížit závislost na Číně v dodávkách strategických surovin.

Jde o první případ, kdy byl zákon porušen natolik, že o něm rozhoduje federální soud.
